Problems with CIS system & Epson 1280

2003-02-14 by rlfoto <rlfoto@mindspring.com>

Tryng to see if anyone else has had similar problems and might have ideas. In printing
with an installed CIS system ( which had been working perfectly ) the printer will just
stop at a certain point and you get the : Printing Aborted : Check for Foreign Objects"
warning .
This had happened to me before . I worked with CIS support who thought the problem
was with the printer itself . I worked with Epson ( not telling them that it was a CIS
system I was working with ) who after trying all sorts of printer resets , replaced the
printer .
All of this would point to just a printer problem except that the exact same thing
happened a month ago. This is the new printer and a newly installed CIS system. I am
beginning to suspect the chips that the CIS system uses? maybe a vibration causes them
to lose contact with the printer.
So , any similar ideas , experiences , solutions , things to check for would be greatly
appreciated . What exactly triggers the foreign object warning on a 1290 ?

Thanks , Robert Lewis
