Forte special matt paper

Forte special matt paper

2003-02-24 by Ruhrfoto/Bernd L. <ruhrfoto@yahoo.de>

Hi,
any experiences with this special paper ?
Just ordered and got a package because the add at
SILVERPRINT.co.uk made me curious.
It says:
"Forte Special Matt uses a photographic fibre base with a unique
smooth dead matt finish.... The general feel is that of a
conventional dead matt FB paper, such as Ilford Multigrade FB
Matt. There is no direct substitute for these papers in other inkjet
paper manufacturers ranges."

The 230gsm paper feels quite nice. Its much brighter than Photo
Rag und even brighter than EAM without beeing blueish.
The back side is not that shabby as EAM is on its back and the
price is moderate:
Photo Rag 50 sh A3 77 GBP
Epson EAM 27 GBP
Forte special matt 33 GBP.
Any tests available??
(The brightness of the paper suggests: a lot of OBAs)

Bernd (an absolute photo rag fan)

Ah, ... nearly forgotten: it prints quite nice at first sight..

Hi Bernd - could you let me know how you get on with this? Are you
getting the printed 'look' closer to an RC-type paper or is it
a 'fineart' paper?

Julian
