How about keeping an open jar of water right near your printer like they
do for pianos? That should work.

Dampp-Chaser, was Epson 1200/piezography - Clogs

2003-02-26 by jim hayes <jimhayes@frii.com>

Funny you mention piano tuning...my wife is studying to be a piano
tuner and her sister is a master piano tuner. Actually she uses
something called a "Dampp-Chaser"- A device that monitors humididy
levels and both adds humidity to air and reduces it when nessecary by
heating the air. I gather these things are stuck under pianos or near
them.

I have a spare one- the sensor part anyway. Looks like it would be
usefull, as the little box has 120 volt standard plugin sockets, one
to plug in a humidifying unit, one to turn on a de-humidifying unit.
So I imagine plugging in a light or a buzzer that would go off to warn
me of either extreme. You can't set them, but they trigger in the
exact range desired for Epson printers.
