Tina,

These Septone inks and software are specifically for the new 7-ink printers.
There is no way to adapt it to the 4-ink 3000. Your best bet for variable
tone print would be the MIS-VM inks and Paul Roark's RGB separation curves.

Tina, 

The Epson 3000 will continue to be supported under the ImageExport 
plug-in which is continually being updated. The PixelPixasso RIP has 
all of the current features of the ImageExport BW Pro RIP PLUS the 
additional support for the new 7 color printers. 

Nothing new for the 3000 is coming out from R9 Sundance other than 
the already available Neutral Cool inkset.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
