Epson Glossy Photo paper, and spraying...

2003-02-27 by Jim Panzer

Yesterday I noticed that I could use some of the Epson Glossy Photo paper
that came with my 1280 on dye or pigments, so I tried, and I actually liked
what I got wit the VM inks, granted I got that bronzing thing that happens
but I just sprayed it and it went away. The prints seem warmer then EAM and
definitely sharper, which are two thing I really like. My question is
this...is it bad to spray your prints to get rid of the bronzing? Does it
come back after a time? I just really like the paper and figured I'd try
more of it but wanted to know why many other don't seem to do it this way.

Oh and also, does anyone know why exactly, spraying the prints makes the
Bronzing go away? I am assuming it has something to do with changing the
surface of the paper but I don't know...

Thanks,

Jim

Jim, I think it's a matter of Aesthetics. Many people think a sprayed glossy
paper looks cheesy and tacky, me among them.
