MIS Variable Mix and Paul Roark's curves
2003-03-28 by Johnny Eades
I just got an Epson 1280 and was so excited about getting the inks from MIS and the curves by Paul Roark. The printer came in Monday and the inks came Wednesday. Needless to say most of Wednesday and today has been spent trying to get a decent hextone print with Roark's curves. I have tried every interpolation of paper types available to no avail. I was a black Only printer and the printer can jump through hoops doing that. I may have to revert to that. At least I get in the print just what I have created on the monitor. The low zones in the print with the Roark curves (I'm back on hextone subject now) are blocked with no detail at all. Just a blob of black area where there should be some detail. I'm not familiar with editing all three channels containing the print curves, any help anyone can give will be greatly appreciated. I'm comfortable with custom dot gain curves and image curves, but not with the print curves for hextone. Your friend in photography Johnny Eades
