Digital BW, The Print

I was deeply saddened by the recent news of Jerry's 
passing..Interestingly, I had been asking myself if he was 
on "vacation" having not seen a posting from him on this or other 
related groups in about a week or so..We never met, but occasionally 
exchanged pictures of our pets..HIS cats and MY dogs..Jerry (along 
with Paul Roark and others) was VERY influential in my stepping out 
into the "newish" world of digital printing/imaging of my personal 
photography..ie.. experimenting with 3rd party inks and pushing the 
envelope from there..
  I revisited his website this AM, and I'm in still "AWE" of his 
photographic vision, and the impact of his landscape work..
He will be immortalized through the images he created, and how he was 
able to "touch" people along the way..He, his work and of course his 
group "postings" will be missed by all..

After being way for several months one of the first things I noticed 
as I started the arduous task of reading back through the archives 
was the absence of a "Jerry post".

Only tonight did I get back far enough to find the truly sad news. I 
loved Jerry's posts and appreciated deeply the time he spent with me 
offline patiently and enthusiasticly encouraging me in the digital 
domain and sharing with me his discoveries.

I will truly miss his prescence here and am deeply, deeply saddened 
at this news. I am grateful to have participated in Tom-hosted 
exchange that included Jerry and for the two sample prints Jerry sent 
me out of the blue to illustrate a point one time. What a guy. What a 
tragic loss.
