I don't usually contribute, as I enjoy reading and listening to the posts. I will however miss Jerry's contributions to this group. I will especially miss his exchange critques and his generosity of spirit. My condolences and best wishes to his family. Mike Kless

Four or so years ago Jerry was the inspiration that convinced me that quality digital printing was achievable. His generous help and comments and insistence on excellence kept me going as I stumbled in sorting out all those bitty problems that face us all when we try to move from the darkroom to the computer. His website of wonderful images always provided the impetus that it could be done. He will never know just how many people like me who listen and lurk on this and similar groups always read his contributions and just felt that through them they knew the man. Somebody who never met him and lived thousands of miles away will miss him. My heartfelt condolences to his mother and family. Adrian Joyner Clevedon England

I am so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. He was very helpful to me when I first ventured into digital B&W printing and I will miss his presence on the list. I always admired Jerry's pursuit of excellence in B&W printing and enjoyed reading his often witty comments. My sincere condolences to his family. Carl Schofield Ithaca, NY

Although I've only posted to this list a hand full of times over the last few years, it's time for another short post. Well, actually it's a tad too late. I am yet another grateful recipient of Jerry Olson's help in the past. When I first started and wanted to see a real piezo print, Jerry was kind enough to make a few and send them my way. They, along with his many suggestions, went a long way at helping me hone my printmaking skills. But beyond Jerry's skill and artistry, he passed something else on . . .I've also made a few prints free of charge for folks new to this list and I've always sited that "someone did the same for me when I was first starting and it proved to be invaluable." I've never bothered to mention who that person was . . .thanks Jerry. William Garcia

I've been thinking about Jerry all day, and reflecting about the last 4 or 5 years I have know about this Guy out in North Dakota. I never met him, but feel I know him well. I think I spent more time disagreeing with him than in agreement on and off the various lists. He was so rigid and opinionated that I at many times thought he was completely crazy. Couple years ago, I realized that he was just passionate and committed to his work and even towards obsessive compulsive, just like many of the rest of us, and no more crazy than myself. I'm very sad he won't get to try the next generation digital camera or printer. I think digital photography and the Internet user groups made his last few years very rewarding and exciting for him. I'm sure of it. Those of us that have this photography love tend to get very involved in it and the years just whiz by. I can't print tonight, just don't feel like it,,But in Jerry's honor, keep printing, and do yourself a favor and go to the Doctor and get a physical, especially if you over 50. Steven Meyers P.A.D.
