7500 Problems

7500 Problems

2003-06-10 by Mr_Misty_44

I have posted this question on the Wide format forum but I thought
I'd try here as well. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.

I have just set up a 7500 with MIS UltraTone Inks. I am trying to run
a head alignment check with cut sheets which are 17X22. The paper I'm
using is 250GSM, 15mil,.015 Thick Goshawk paper. The instructions
indicate roll paper for this operation. How do I go about it with cut
sheets since this is what I'll be using for the most part. I have
done a head alignment on a roll of epson paper I had.The #1 row is
sharp but with all the others the numbers are faint to missing at the
tops of the numbers and there seems to be little difference in the
selections from 1 to 15 in each row except Row#4. The nozzle check
seems correct. I am using the 7500 Epson Driver. should I be using
the 7000 Epson Driver? Please help. any other tips in setting this
printer up for UltraTones would be GREATLY appreciated. If you want
to contact me off list instead of taking up space...If not, post away.

John,

the quickest answer is to take a look at the service manual for a more
complete understanding of alignment. Epson doesn't endorse access to
manuals for mere mortals, but thankfully someone has made them available:

My understanding is that you use (cheap) EAM in rolls, align per instructions,
then create a setting in memory for your particular paper if it exceeds the limits
of auto-detectable thickness.

But it's been a year since I played with alignment on my 7000, so you are best
to read the manual.

Antonis

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
