The current model is excellent.  I don't see any reason to wait for
something better.

I for one don't want a newer model... but, if a new one comes out in a month or two 
there will be a drop in prices on the current model, so I see that as a very good 
reason to wait.  For me, a wait of less than 3 months would be acceptable otherwise 
I'd go with the current lline.

Apparetnly film scanners aren't quite the same as most technology/computer 
products.  The "wait a few months and something better will come along" doesn't 
seem to be as true given how long the current generation have been around.

I'm actually hoping Minolta comes out with a new Medium Format model soon so 
their current model goes down in price.  I would prefer that over the Nikon.

Not that I object to seeing Steve's question or Jeff's response here, 
but Tony Sleep's filmscanner list (addresses above are from his web 
site) is a good place to ask questions about film scanners. He shoots 
B&W and so do many of the active subscribers to his list.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
