I have put warm water on the pad and let it sit overnight plus an hour or
two. The first nozzle check after that was not good but I ran a cleaning
cycle after that nozzle check. Sometimes it took a couple of cleaning cycles
and nozzle checks and it cleared. I was told by the Epson guy that I use not
to use Windex or any other chemicals because it will eventually ruin the
heads. So far warm water has always worked. I also have the VM but in an
1160.......bgs

Thanks, but now for a really dumb question: where is the "pad." Is
it part of the printhead mechanism that holds the carts? Or the
strip on the bottom of the compartment that the ink flows through?
Thanks for your help.

Thanks. It was not obvious to me...

By the way, I am relatively sure that the black ink is the new Eboni
and it is the one ink that has not colgged.
