Re: [Digital BW] Digest Number 1687

I would love to hear comments by anyone who has tried this one out. It looks a little like a consumer gadget printer but the 8 cartridge system does sound nice. And I love hp quality. If only my 1280 was as reliable as my hp laser jet after so many years ... :) (i know, that's not a fair comparison.) cheers, boris Some comments made by Vincent Oliver in the forum section of <http://www.photo-i.co.uk/> "The HP 7960 b/w prints are the best you will see anywhere; no cast, no metamerism and 73 years+ life. I'm sure an A3 printer is in the pipeline. HP also has the HP Designjet 120 printer, an A2+ printer. This uses six inks and produces some excellent colours, I will try to get hold of one for review." "B/W has been totally addressed, now you can have 4097 shades of true grey, compared to 17 shades on a normal six ink printer, the other shades of grey are made up from a combination of coloured inks, that's why you get colour cast's. Metamerism is also a thing of the past, in our tests we could barely see any change of colour and we used several light sources." [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
