Digital BW, The Print

I am considering the ione Photo set for printer calibration. Will 
this allow me to do the density tests for getting good linearity from 
black to white or will i need additional software?

If you use it's proprietary software, the EyeOne produces readings in LAB.  These can 
be converted to density readings using Bruce Lindbloom's Companding Calculator:

If you own StudioPrint, it will produce density readings when the EyeOne is used with 
it.
