Dedicated B&W printer

While I may well be wrong, my recollection was that as of 6-7 months ago, the modal opinion of the group was that the optimum solution for a dedicated B&W printer was still a 1280 with some form of quad inks. Question: has that changed with the development of all of the RIPs and new inks (Septones, for example) for the 2200? At some point, I am going to have to replace my 1200 which I use with MIS-VM inks and am not sure whether another 1280 (I have one for color and the price is reasonable) or making the jump to a 2200 would be the way to go. Again, my concern is a printer that will be used only for B&W and for someone printing for their own enjoyment rather than for clients or exhibition. (I use a PC.) Steve
