I was looking at the epson website and see the PremierArt Matte paper only comes in 8.5x11 and that square format stuff, which is kind of interesting for 6x6 stuff. Are there any other larger sizes currently or coming in the near future. I'm trying to decide on my cotton/carbon combo and a range of sizes is fairly crucial. Thanks all! wonderful stuff by the way. very slightly warmer than Photo Rag. Quite a lot cheaper than PR from Photowarehouse - no flaking, no noticeable "rubbing" great for colour as well as B&W single and double sided. Very smooth surface, hopefully mega longevity... Unless I want a slightly cooler white, it's taken over from PR for me

i agree my early tests with the 300 weight stuff from inkjetart is really exciting, this will probably become my paper. john e --- Tim Atherton <timatherton@...> wrote: > > wonderful stuff by the way. very slightly warmer > than Photo Rag. And I love the double sided - half the waste for paper testing! And if you screw up a 13x19 print, you can just use the other side....

I think it's the same paper. It's the one I use now for the archival prints. (EEM is my medium of choice for non-archival display prints.) The Permajet beta I tried is even better looking -- a dmax that equals EEM & beats all the other cotton papers, plus no flaking, and no brighteners (with an option for brighteners for those who want them). It'll probably be more expensive. I expect Jobo will market it in the U.S. after the first of the year. MIS might also be a distributor. This is real progress in a critical input market for our medium. Paul - If you get some of this that is likely to be the final version, I wouldn't mind giving some of it a try with the Ultrachromes if you have a little to spare. Well, it looks like this has gotten a little out of hand. So, a commercial plug. If you would like to see some really fine examples of the subject of this forum, Paul will have some of his work hanging in the San Luis Artist's Gallery, in San Luis Obispo, CA. If you have not seen Paul's work first hand, and will be in the area, the hanging should be through Dec. 28. It's a treat! i have i like the entrada 300 natural, but i have had some flaking issues, as have other people. i wiped the paper down with a clean lintless cloth and still got a bit of flaking. i'm still gonna play with it, but the premier art stuff is winning out right now. hopefully the permajet stuff that paul roark likes isn't too expensive, it sounds like a really good paper too. john eckenrode --- kenschuster <ken.schuster@...> wrote: > Tim, have you tried any of the Entrada papers? > > _____________________________________________ > Help end spam and telemarketing... never respond to > it, even to "unsubscribe." > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Tim Atherton > To: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com > Sent: Friday, October 31, 2003 7:02 PM > Subject: RE: [Digital BW] Sizes of Epson PremierArt > Matte Scrapbook Photo Paper > > > > wonderful stuff by the way. very slightly warmer > than Photo Rag. I've tried some smaller sheets of the entrada, both the natural and white. Same problem. Fairly significant flaking - even when you think you've wiped/brushed every bit off, on one or two out of every three prints, suddenly you notice little specs of white in the sky or something where it has flaked off. Although it's not too bad on the entrada, the Premier is much more resistant to rubbing as well. The Premier also has a much nicer paper "feel" to it (actually, nicer than Photo Rag). I still like the PR for it's whiter base on some things, but if they come out with a slightly whiter version of the Premier, I think that will be it... tim

The Premier Premium Matte is a bright white paper with a smooth surface, similar to the Fine Art surface, but the heaviest weight available is only 210 gm, 11.4 mil thickness. It prints nicely with the Ultrachromes, does not flake, and is quite inexpensive. If they made it in a heavier weight it would be good bright white compliment to the Fine Art paper. http://www.photowarehouse.biz/premier.html Carl

Steve, >... what was the Permajet that you tested? >(Hopefully it is available here in the UK). The beta box that I have and think highly of (there are some that I don't think highly of also) says Fine Art "ISC." Permajet did not have a final name as of 2 weeks ago. So, I doubt it is on the shelves over there either. January was the target date for release. Paul http://www.PaulRoark.com ______________________________________

Paul, Using the Ultrachromes (matte black) the dmax for the Premier Premium Matte was 1.61, which is about the same that I got with the Premier Hot Press Fine Art. EEM was 1.68. The paper specs indicate that it is acid free, but I haven't tested it. The basis weight is about the same as EEM, but the Premier Premium Matte is not as stiff and has a softer feel. Carl
