Digital BW, The Print

Im puzzled at your problem with PS 7. I'm currently operating with XP pro, PS7 and have had no problems in continuing to work the next print in PS while my 1280 is printing a 13x19 print. I checked my printer settings and find no special setting that I have consciously made. Sorry I can't shed any light on your mystery.

I also have absolutely no such problems with either XP Pro or Home 
with either of my 1290s.  
I would check that your hub is not causing a problem.  Typical 
digital print files are huge and I would never send them through a 
hub.  Try it direct and see if the issue is the same.
Next go into computer management and click on the 'services' 
section.  Go down to print spooler and check that status is started 
and start-up is automatic.
I don't have it in front of me right now, but there are also options 
to print directly to printer, start printing immediately or fully 
spool before printing.  I personally would always fully spool but it 
should take a few seconds at most.
