Digital BW, The Print

I use Windows XP, Epson 2200 w/custom paper profiles, Photoshop CS, 
Nikon D100. Have a spare Epson 1280 I could dedicate to B&W 
printing. I've been looking at Piezography, MIS UltraTone and 
Quadtone RIP (installing Lunix on an old 486 is an option). 

I have ImagePrint DEMO but quite expensive and not sure it has as 
good a tone selection range as other sytems - the Demo B&W prints do 
look good however.

Are there real/noticeable differences in a. print quality (great 
blacks, free of color cast) between systems? b. Toneing available? 
c. Operating costs? d. ease of use? e. reliability? f. Print 
stability

Comments on dedicating the 1280 to B&W vs switching the 2200 back & 
forth? (costs, time, print quality)

Estimated Print Volume, 20 to 50 a month 

What else should I consider?
