My First Hextones
2003-11-13 by Jerry in Houston
Yesterday I received my new set of MIS UT carts for my 1280 and today I had the chance to install them and run some quick images through. I had some greyscale RGB images I had already printed using Clayton Jones BO workflow that I really liked... some images taken onboard the tallship Elyssa in Galveston, TX.and I thought would make a good comparison. I am using the Ruarke workflows for these inks and EEP (which has become my favorite anyway). I expected to have to do some serious twiddling, but I was quite impressed with the first images. Sharpness seemed to be improved, but the BO might have been printed at 720, but what really caught my eye was the openness of the shadows and a bit of increase in apparent contrast without losing detail.... needless to say I am pretty pleased. I also have some of the Epson PremierArt scrapbook that I have been somewhat disappointed with as being a bit dull, these inks my help. Hope to have more to contribute later.... I may also try other workflows to see how they work.... I do want to thank Paul for all the effort he has put forward, without compensation, to help advance our art.
