OT Contact Sheets on Epson 2450

OT Contact Sheets on Epson 2450

2003-11-17 by bfwoolner

A previous post described making B&W contact sheets using Epson 2450
scanner and 1280 printer. The software used was Silverfast. Anyone
having any success using the Epson Twain software? My results are
horrific. Appreciate any help. I am using UT inks, EEM
scanning "flatbed".

I have the 2450 scanner and used the Epson software for a while. It
works fine so long as you figure out how to turn all the auto
settings off. I liked the auto batch framing feature even though it
was a little aggressive on the cropping... somehow it got screwed up
when I added a second scanner and VueScan... so I haven't used it for
a while. I like vuescan much better than Silverfast.

Hi Barbara,

SilverFast is certainly a better option BUT, if you are a Mac user and
are under OS X, the latest driver for the Epson 2450 works far way
better than what (probably) shipped with your scanner... give it a
try, it's worth the while!
