Mark, have you any specific steps to making decent contact sheets with 2450
and VueScan? Particular settings?

Thanks,
Barbara

I use the 2450 scanner and make contact sheets of 35mm film. Here is
how I did it. First I open the twane software in photoshop. Then I
scann the two strips of film. When the two strips show up in photoshop
I will make a selection around the two strips. I then create a new
document 8.5 X 11 @ 360 dpi. I then drag the selection to the new
document and position them on the left side of the document. I then
load up the negative carrier with two more film strips, scann them
and when they open in photoshop, I once again make a selection around
them and drag them to the new document and place them on the right
side of the document. I now have a full page contact sheet with 24
images. I went a step further and made all this into an action. It
works very well. Now just print the new document and you have your
contact sheet. However if you are planning to use the contact sheet
as you did your contact from film, forget it. When you put a loop on
it all you see is dots. Its is impossible to judge sharpness. However
if you desire to view them for reference or content or composition
then it a good tool.
