Paul,

Try going to Settings>Printers and Faxes and delete all 1280 printers. Then
install the newest XP driver from Epson. The canned XP driver will also
install when you start up the printer
but just disregard it. Make sure the Epson driver is the default.

Paul,

An elementary question, but have you downloaded and installed the specific
Status Monitor for the 1280?

Bob Frost.

Thanks, I'd missed that it was a separate program.

Paul,

You also may want to make sure that you are using the Espon driver
and not the one included with Windows XP. As I recall, the driver
included with Xp does not have the full range of functions.

Steve
