Wait a minute: Are you saying that HP has confirmed that the same
ink-accepting surface and the same absorption characteristics, and
therefore the same archival properties, can be had from the "Premium Photo"
paper as from "Premium Plus Photo," even though the former is a LOT cheaper
than the latter? Hoo boy...

hp 7660 paper (was:Re: Print sizes)

2004-02-13 by Mark Hahn

That is what I was told... and for as long as I was put on hold to
get that information I would hope that it is correct. Personally, I
am going to print everything I can on the Premium Plus paper and only
use the Premium for larger prints... the few extra bucks a box is
worth being able to sleep better at night;) (That way, if my prints
self-destruct I can point the finger at Wilhelm)

Also, since I'm new to this hp stuff, what's the big deal they make
about paper curl and the ziplock bag that they want you to store all
photo paper in, is it that much of a problem?

Also, if anyone is interested in the 7660, apparently Best Buy is
running a special now. My wife bought mine + 1 #59 and a box of
Premium Plus Glossy for my birthday and they threw in a BB card worth
$30... almost like getting the printer for a measly $120! What a
deal.

New! hp 7660 paper

2004-02-13 by Mark Hahn

there are no web listings yet that I could find, but my local CompUSA
took their first delivery of 11x17" HP Premium Plus Gloss paper
today. To let my gallery have a copy the Wilhelm predictions for #59
inkset and hpPPG paper makes things better for anyone concerned...

Thanks, Mark. Now I can at least try out the plain old Premium paper with a
clear conscience, and see if it's better or worse than the Plus in the few
areas where the Plus has drawbacks (cockling, mostly). Back to Office
Depot...
