Ed - I found HW Matte to plug up in the shadows, too. I switched to EEM and
it's better. The media type stays to HW Matte on the driver, though. At
first, I was getting dmax readings of 1.68 to 1.72, but I was losing shadow
detail. What I do now is move the whole the image adjustment curve up. Now I
get only around 1.64 dmax but I'm getting better shadow detail. I'm thinking
the C84 lays down too much ink. I was toying with the idea of switching from
"no color management" to "custom" and trying to reduce the saturation
slider. Maybe that's totally misguided.

Thanks for the replies, Paul and George.  George, I have been 
using EEM.  I agree that there may be too much ink.  I also tried 
the Plain Paper and Photo Glossy media types and got the same 
problem.

	Yes, the sliders should be useable.  That might give you enough
control to deal with problems.  Not having used a C84, I can't be of much
help here.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
