My reading of this page: http://home1.gte.net/res09aij/UT-2200- Readme.htm leads me to believe that the UT7 inkset is completed and available, however I have contacted MIS twice (once in mid-February and once early last week) and both times they told me that I should check "next week" because it was almost complete. Could you provide a more accurate estimate about when the inks will be available? Thanks Colin Young

Colin, >My reading of this page: http://home1.gte.net/res09aij/UT-2200- >Readme.htm leads me to believe that the UT7 inkset is completed and >available, however I have contacted MIS twice (once in mid-February >and once early last week) and both times they told me that I should >check "next week" because it was almost complete. >Could you provide a more accurate estimate about when the inks will >be available? Sorry for the confusion. I thought I had a final formula a while ago, but for some reason the production inks didn't match my inks when I tested them. Finding what went wrong has taken a while. I'm assuming I'll send MIS a new final formula this week. Then, of course, the risk is if they release it before I check it again, we might find that we missed the real source of the problem. Perhaps they could release some next week in bulk (4 oz.) with an "experimental" or some other designation indicating I had not had time to check it. I've been doing "beta testing" of the UT-7 inks on a new 7600 for Paul and MIS and although there have been some problems, I think the final mix is coming soon. I have been VERY happy with my results thus far. All I can say is be patient. Paul and MIS are very meticulous and want to have the set correct before wide release. I'm sure everyone will be pleased. Thanks (and to Bill also). That clears things up. I'd suggest updating your webiste, but I'd rather you spent your time fiddling with ink than fiddling with HTML :) I'll assume that you will be announcing the availability here once it's done. Problems faced have been minimal and are due to color mixture and nothing else. As I stated before, Paul and the people at MIS are very particular and want to make sure everything checks out before wide release. The products they have created for all of us to use are excellent and at a relatively rapid pace. Perhaps we're all a bit spoiled by that. I for one would rather be patient and make sure all is as expected. Bill www.billschwab.com

A production sample of UT7 is supposed to be in the overnight to me today. Bill, sorry to do this to you, but you'll have a new LK (now largely neutralized) and new LM. Inks (and everything, I suppose) are a moving target for me. The delay was due to both a mistake in my notes and my improving the no-slider printing, especially on Arches Hot Press. Note that for those who like neutral and don't like sepia, the UT7 Y position (designated as a custom mixing position, among other things) can have the pure carbon LC put in it and the no-slider printing becomes dead neutral on EEM. > Bill, sorry to do this to you, but you'll have a new LK (now largely neutralized) and new LM. No Problem Paul. I'm getting pretty well versed at the flush procedure! I figured something was up because I got a shipping notice from MIS today. I'm assuming it is Bob sending the new mix with carts. I'll let you know when I have the machine flushed, charged and running. Bill www.billschwab.com
