Nik sharpener with epson 2200

Nik sharpener with epson 2200

2004-05-07 by spersky123

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone uses Nik sharpener for the B/O printing
with the epson 2200. I cannot select my output resolution of
2880x1440 using the Nik sharpener. Can anyone else recommend a good
sharpener?

thanks
Steve

BO printing with 870 Suggestions?

2004-05-07 by SMuncy

I have an Epson 870 (and 1270, I think the black is the same) printer. I
would like to try the BO printing. Are the special black ink cartridges
available for this printer? Any other special information I need? I use a
Mac.

Sorry if this has been covered, but I couldn't find it.

Any help appreciated.
S

I have an 870 and I use a MAC, there is no problem using the MIS Associate
BO inks and Ink Jet Art black BO inks. Also, the MIS site sells inks for B&W
prints that use all 6 cartiridges. For this type of printing you will have to
download the Roark curves and instructions. The prints come out pretty good,
as do the BO prints. Take a look at the MIS Assocate site for further
information.

You can try BO printing with whatever ink is in the printer, just to
see if you like it. No special ink is required. Detailed
instructions for BO printing are available on the web link below.

If you decide to continue with BO printing, using MIS Eboni ink will
give you the cooler color and longevity that are its main advantages.
I recommend calling MIS on the phone to be sure you order the correct
cart. I started out with an 870 and made many beautiful prints with
it.

Clayton

Thank you. I have looked at your helpful site. I wanted some confirmation
that the 870 was viable and to try some of the better inks before I upgrade
my printer later this year.

Thanks again

Sure. Try PhotoKit Sharpener from pixelgenius.com and you won't be
disappointed.

Instead of a new sharpener, have to tried making the same print at
1440 and at 2880 dpi and see if you can tell the difference with your
naked eye? Granted you'll have to use another sharperner for this
comparison, just use the one in PS.

I can't see the difference. But then Peter Nelson one told me I just
must have bad eyesight if the BO dots didn't bother me. FWIW, my up
close vision is 20/15.

You may just eliminate the need for a new sharperner and speed up your
printing at the same time.
