Re: [Digital BW] new 1160 or old 1200?

Hi, I haven't used a 1200, but I printed with an 1160 and archival pigment inks for 2 years (until it died), and its an inexpensive printer giving excellent results. It has a different dither pattern to lay the ink drops on the paper than the later printers, which is - as far as I can tell so far - very natural looking and unobtrusive. Regards, Bernie

I apologise for sending this post as I've asked similar questions before. I have a 1200 that works fine with oem inks, but was torture with cart refilling with UT1 inks. Is there any reason why I should retire the 1200 in favour of a new 1160, which seems to have many advocates. I don't want to go through the nightmares I had with the 1200 any more with the inkflow problems I experienced - a lot of my ink went in cleaning cycles. I'd be using a CFS, which I hope would make things easier.
