portfolio?

2004-07-15 by fultonpark1

I am in search of a box or portfolio for my 24'x36' prints so that I might take them to
gallerys. I don't want a soft portfolio because my prints would probably get damaged.
I have searched the internet with no luck.
I also need suggestions for a method of wrapping my prints when people come to my
studio and need a way to get the prints home. I would like it be a nice clean
inexpensive package.
thank you in advance,
Raphael Sloane

Light Impressions does not carry anything in 24"x36" and that seems to be the
problem everywhere

Re: portfolio?

2004-07-17 by Jerry Hadam

Raphael,
Are you looking for a clamshell box, or something that slides apart?
Black? Metal corners?
More like the briefcase type portfolio? The reason I am asking is that
I could really use something like a really attractive box that slides
apart as I have quite a stock of large prints and posters that I need
to store attractively. If I can't find it, I do know someone in the
paper products business that I should be able to have something made.

In terms of wrapping prints to take home safely, I frequently use two
sheets of 32x40 foamcore with a paper liner or glassine or release
paper on the print side. Never a problem.

Jerry,
I am looking for something that I can take to a gallery that is presentable and if be need I
can leave my prints there in some sort of container. Since I might be in a position to leave
2 or 3 portfolios with different gallerys, I would like something reasonably priced and
clean looking. I might have to make something and I did receive a wonderful design for
such.

Light Impression is usually your best, but you might want to take a look at
these.
