Digital BW, The Print

I am a traditional black and white landscape photographer.  For the 
last 2 years I have been scaning my 6x6 cm negs and printing 
digitally with great success.  Now I have been bitten by the digital 
camera bug and think it's time to take that plunge.  Any advice on 
camera choice, workflow, or what to expect from the transition would 
be appreciated.

I'd recommend at least a 6mp camera.  I use an 8mp.  This gives enough
resolution to be able to crop and still make larger prints.  My 8mp
images seem to make prints with quality equivalent to what I'd expect
from a scanned 645 negative, not quite as good as I'd get from 6x7 or
4x5.

I have found that shooting in Black and White mode gives poorer
results than shooting in color and converting later myself.
