Gray Balancer - 4000

Gray Balancer - 4000

2004-07-19 by Andrew Unger

In an effort to experiment with the Gray Balancer I downloaded the
software from Epson's Russian site but found that it doesn't
recognize the 4000. I then telephoned Epson UK to buy the software
and was referred to a reseller which wanted more to ship the
software to the US than the software itself costs.

There is a 14k file probably called Stylus Pro 4000.tct that enables
the software to recognize the computer. I'm hoping that someone who
has the 4000 specific version of the software will forward this file
to me. Many thanks.

Andrew-

I'm sure most everyone will agree...don't waste your time. Gray
Balancer is worthless, causes you to waste a huge amount of time and
will never make good prints consistently.

You don't say whether you are on windows or mac. If windows, your
choices are pretty much Image Print, some custom profiles or
twiddling with the Epson driver/profiles (which are not really too
bad if you run the printer calibration first). If you are mac, you
have all of the above plus a number of free and nearly free
applications that are well documented here.

Hope this helps (I forked out $$$ for Image Print and don't regret
it),
