Why is it that the MIS website says UT7 inks are not for use with QTR? Is this correct? If so, what is it about this inkset that makes it not compatible with QTR? Cheers Steve

I've made some QTR profiles for my UT7 inkset. Works great. I'd be happy to share them if anyone is interested. -- Daniel Staver http://daniel.staver.no

Ok so you can use it and QTR will drive all the toners. I don¹t have a problem making the curves but if I do purchase a UT7 set I would be interested in taking a look at what you¹ve done. Thanks. (Maybe Roy should chat to MIS and get them to change their website.)

Ross You can use QTR to drive almost any ink set because it allows you to describe how each ink position is used. It takes some learning but is truly extremely versatile. The fact that MIS had such a statement on their website surprised me as I know how versatile QTR really is. It's the best $50 I have spent on digital printing. Steve

Hi Roy, I've made the profiles available at http://download.petraflux.com/qtr_ut7_profiles.zip Feel free to put them on your site. They're made for ordered dithering and 1440x720hq2 resolution. I didn't make a sepia profile though, only carbon and cool. I'm off for a three week vacation in a few days, so I probably won't have time to complete that one before I'm back. -- Daniel Staver http://daniel.staver.no > If you'd like I'd gladly put the UT7 profiles on my website for > general usage.

Thanks, Daniel. I looked at them briefly and they seem to be for photo ink and paper. What paper are you using? Roy --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, Daniel Staver <daniel@p...> wrote:

They're for EEM and Eboni black. Ignore the high density values, my densitometer does not give me values anything like what I usually see quoted around here. I have no documentation for it either, but it appears to create quite linear profiles. > Thanks, Daniel. I looked at them briefly and they seem to be for > photo ink and paper.
