New Version of Epson Pro Stylus 9600

New Version of Epson Pro Stylus 9600

2004-07-24 by john dean

Is anyone aware of when an updated version of the 9600 will be
on the market. There must be some "leaks" and gossip coming
out of R&D at Epson. Surely they will incorporate some of the
features and advances released in the 4000 recently, such as
improved dither pattern, 8 ink slot configuration, and most
importantly, speed.

Rumor was that things would stay as they are for a bit with the larger
formats. But you know how reliable rumors are.

On the other hand the print driver in the 4000 is described as
improved and I have seen a slight suggestion that there may be a new
driver for the ultrachrome printers.

This would invalidate existing profiles so I do not see how that is
reasonable other than by yet another option beside NCA.

The "rumor" I heard was maybe Fall 2005...
