Re: [Digital BW] Velvet fine art paper...

Douglas, Epson Velvet is one of my current favorite papers. I use an Epson 2200 / IP driver and find that both color and B&W prints exhibit slightly less overall contrast than many other rag matte papers. My general workflow is to produce small prints applying contrast and tonal adjustments curves--salt to taste--to target the image for this paper. Once I'm happy with the result, then the full size image is printed. Alan Huntley

Quick question....is it normal for Velvet fine art to print a bit lighter than say Ilford radiant white, or H. german etching, or museo?....all my papers print very clos eto the same on my 1280, with Mis UT2 inks, except for velvert fine art which is lighter in the darkest areas. I have read that VFA has good Dmax, so I am wondering which way to approach it. May an incerase in contrast, or just a darkening of the print?. Trying to conserve paper cuz i dont have much of it.....thanks, DM Please visit the Group Homepage to check the Files, and other resources as they are often being updated. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint If you wish to receive no emails or just a daily digest, or you wish to unsubscribe, please edit your Membership preferences by visiting this same page.
