QTR and parallel printer-Print speed

Hi, Finally got QTR and QTRGui to run on my 2200 by installing and using a parallel printer cable (in addition to my USB connection.) The only problem now appears to be that the print time is about 3 or 4 times longer than my USB connection. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I might improve the print speed?
