John,

I had the same problem, or at least very similar.

In the end I deleted every printer, re-installed the drivers from
Panther install disk 2, set up Epson printers in the printer setup
utility, and ONLY THEN installed QTR.

In my instance installing QTR before installing Epson drivers disabled
the ability of the Printer Setup Utility from seeing USB attached
printers using "Epson USB."

Incidentally, I used the Printer Setup Utility Repair application:

http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/14641

to actually do the driver deletion and permissions repair. I don't know
if this is essential, but doing a permissions repair is absolutely
essential to getting things working again.

John this is good advice. Also: (1) if you are using the Epson UCs then
load the Epson driver with MK in and rename it to designate MK and then put
in the PK cartridge, add the printer again and rename it to designate PK.
Then load QTR. (2) I can't get QTR to work at 2880 - I am following up with
Roy. (3) Definitely run print setup repair. It should not be necessary to
delete any printer drivers. Only do this as a last resort.
