Roy - QTR Works with Piezzotones on Epson 1200
2004-10-15 by john dean
I just wanted to let whoever might be interested know that I just set up QTR with Cone Piezzotone Carbon Sepia inks on my Epson 1200 and was astonished to find that the very first print I did was so perfect and beautiful that it blew my mind. I expeced to have to have this printer linearized by someone, or at the very least have to spend a week with making special curves. I didn't. This was the easiest thing that I've ever done with monoprinting and my first attempt at using QTR. I'm lucky as hell but I'm also very happy. I used the highest resolution and the ouput is slow but I swear this is the same file I printed on a 1280 with the Piezzo Selenium Tone inks and their custom icc profile and the QTR looks even better, which I didn't think was possible. At any rate they both looked great. I am still unclear about how all the curves work with QTR but this print made me a believer very quickly. Now to set this all up on my 7000. Thank you ROY for all your efforts and the ability to use these older printers with OSX. You would think Epson would be as devoted. This all makes me want to set up a 4000 with all the multiple hue possibilities. John
