epson 1200

For someone who wants to set a printer for B&W with cone inks. Would a epson 1200 be a starting point. I have windows 98SE and wish to print landscapes. I don't really want to put millions of dollars into this just yet, I don't really like computers, but, my real job is ruining the fun of trying to get into the darkroom before every thing develops age fog.. duh dan

You should have no problem with that. My results look the same as on a 1280. I personally
did not have the ICC Piezzo profiles and found that by doing some experimenting I could
just use greyscale gamma 1.8 as a profile with the standard driver on OS9 and it works
well for me. If you can afford the ICC profiles it might be a good idea for you though since
you are working on a PC that might be the safe bet. But yes, tonally they look quite nice
throught the 1200.

epson 1200

I am hoping someone on the list can give me some suggestions on a
feed
error on a 1200. The power and feed light are flashing, there is no
paper or a jam. The seller said they used it just prior to shipping,
but it has done this from the time I plugged it in. Anyone know of a
way to clear this ,short of sending it to epson? thanks Dan

You can always try unplugging the printer to let the printer's memory
reset. I've had this happen a couple of times with both my 1280 and
2200. Turning the printer off by using the power button is
insufficient to reset the memory, only removing the power source will
do it.

Good luck,

Eric

Thanks Eric, tried that too. I hope to return the printer. I will have to
research about another way to print bigger than letter size. Dan

You also can try one of these resetting procedures:

If I remember well the first one worked for my 1200 with similar
flashing lights error.
