It is not a problem of the hardware but software. Having said that you
should
have no problem using the Epson drivers with OSX. How did you choose
the driver?
It is added with the Printer Setup Utility. Need a restart after
installing. Some will
say that you need to remove the GIMP drivers but that is not so, I have
both drivers
running side by side. More info would help.

I installed the Epson C86 driver software from the CD and would then add the printer with
the Printer Setup Utility, like I always do. I chose EPSON USB, but the printer did not show!
I then tried installing the printer at my IMac G4 (also OS 10.3.6) - no problem.
But the G5 won't recognize the printer. I run Epson 2200 and 1160 on the G5 without
problems, but the C86 won't show up!
Apple Support Forum has several posts about this problem with some specific Epson
printers in combination with G5's. Noone has a solution other than using the Gimp Print
drivers instead of the Epson driver. That works.
Do you use G5 with C86 ???
