I am sorta new to digi printing and am still trying to nail down my
workflow, so I may have mislead you, but I have noticed that when I
sharpen prior to downsizing, I have much better control of USM and am
far less likely to overdo it- and my prints just look better to my
eyes. I find that proper use of USM is one of hardest things to get a
grip on in the digital process, as its artifacts aren't always
apparent on screen or, at first glance, in the print. Again, my
experience may be related to my green-ness.
But hey, couldn't hurt to try it anyway!
