QTRgui version 2.1.3 Available

QTRgui version 2.1.3 Available

2004-12-11 by Stephen Billard

QTRgui version 2.1.3 is now on the QTRgui WEB page.
www.sbillard.org/Shareware/QTRgui.htm.

This version corrects handling of some TIFF files. Specifically, ones saved
in Macintosh format and ones with a single Alpha channel. In previous
versions, these images caused a "error in bitmap data" error. Note: Pictures
with alpha channels will not print correctly through QuadToneRIP.

Also changed is the mechanism for monitoring folders. The monitoring is done
directly from file system events. There is no longer a "Monitoring Interval"
parameter.

Lastly, this version includes support for custom profile creation. It
provides a "Calibration Mode" for printing the calibration image and it will
recognize if curves have been added or removed.

Stephen,

This keeps crashing in Win 2000 - gives me a violation error when it tries
to open up

Won't set to Quad2200 and the Printer 2200 - or when it does it says there
has been a violation and needs closing down. And when it opens up again the
settings aren't saved. (gone back to 2.1.2 for now)

Stephen, well perhaps something got overcorrected, the 21step tiff
with the quadtone software indicates an error, though it printed
correctly before.

The error is: "Unable to open file" for the tiff stepwedge that is
distributed with the quadtone print driver.

All that is necessary is to open it and save it in another
application. I have seen this before, quite a few of the simpler tiff
readers are fragile and adobe derived tiff's are often quite on the
edge of the standard and this file is an Macintosh Adobe Phoitoshop CS
derived file.

Why it worked with 2.1.2 and not now? ---beats me.

There is a bug in the current version of QTRgui in opening files with
longish file names. The work around is to move the files to a more global
folder. A fix is in progress.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
