MIS UT2 Ink question

MIS UT2 Ink question

2004-12-12 by e5bowman

I am going back to using my 1280 with the Epson dye inks, and I have
some UT2 ink left over in the bottles for the CIS. Does anyone know
if these inks be used in either a 2200 or a C86, using the "top-
fill" cartridges which are now supposedly available from MIS?

(I haven't been able to determine if any of the 1280 UT2 inks are
the same as the ones in any of the positions for the other two
printers.)

TIA!
Eric

Eric,

The Eboni black is the same, of course. Other than that, there is overlap
in the warm grays. The UT2 L & LM are the same as the UT7 C & LC.

Hope this helps.

Due to the apparent demise of my 1280 shortly after delivery of a set
of UT2 inks, I asked the MIS tech support folks the same question with
regard to the 2200 & UT7. The short answer was that it can't be done
becaue the two inksets are different formulations.

Re: [Digital BW] MIS UT2 Ink question

You can put the UT2 inks in the new clear carts for the 2200, but you
will need QTR and profiles to print. I'm currently using a mix of the
UT-FSN quads and UT2 warm grays and sepia for printing via QTR with
neutral (FSN inks), warm (UT2 inks), and sepia (UT2 + sepia inks)
profiles to my 2200.
