QTR + Win 2000 + Epson 1280

QTR + Win 2000 + Epson 1280

2004-12-24 by rfsteckmeyer

FWIW, I just down loaded and installed QTR and QTRgui2.1.5.
Installation went without a hitch once I figured out to use the
desktop icon. The first prints are very nice. I don't yet see a
dramatic difference from using Paul Roark's curves but it sure is a
simple workflow. I do wish a curve for Epson Glossy Photo Paper were
included for the 1280. It appears that you have to go to the 4000 to
get this.

Any advice on using this combination will be appreciated.

I think there are curves available for Epson photo paper with the UT2
inkset. Which inks are you using in the 1280?

I'm using MIS UT2 with Eboni in the black position. I do not see
curves for Epson Photo Paper and the 1280 in the QTRgui drop down
menue. The neutral prints on EEM are a bit green. I did try Epson
Photo Paper and Ilford Smoothe Peral paper with the
UT2-EPremLuster-carbon-3 option. The Epson results were OK. The
Ilford had a brown shift from the Epson and there was noticable
bronzing (as usual). Any comments will be appreciated

Check with Roy. The EPhotoPaper curves are in the Mac download and
perhaps the .quad files weren't transferred to the PC download.

Re: [Digital BW] QTR + Win 2000 + Epson 1280

2004-12-28 by Roy Harrington

There aren't any 1280 profiles for Epson (Glossy) Photo Paper. However there are
some for the 1270. The printers are very similar but not identical. So I'd
recommend trying two different methods and seeing which you like better:

1) Load the 1270 profiles and copy the EPhotoPaper profiles from the
Quad1270 folder into the Quad1280 folder.
2) Use the EPremiumLuster profiles that are already for the 1280.

RE: [Digital BW] latest QTR won't print or save settings

2004-12-28 by Tim Atherton

On win 2000/Epson 2200, the latest version of QTR won't

a) save its settings. Each time it's closed and opened it reverts to it's
unsaved settings and the help shows up as it opens up in "virgin" mode and
it sometimes gives me some errors in the process

b) when it is open, it won't print - hit print the image of the file goes
away and nothing else happens?

any ideas? Anyone else getting this?

(Stephen hasn't been able to decipher much from the log file - jus thought
someone else might have)

Previous version that was working was GUI 2.1.2 + QTR 2.1b
