The majority of the talk about this new release is about the new 13x19
version of the Epson R800. It has been released in Japan and will come to
the US in a few months, some say about April. The R800 is available today.
You can look at the R800 to see what the prints will look like.

My impressions of the R800 prints were that glossies looked much better, and
that matte prints were about the same. Since glossies are the downfall of
the 2200, I think the new printer will be on my shopping list.

I guess they are always working on something...look at all they've
done in the low end printer area lately.

I would rather see them work on wider color gamut, less bronzing and
surface differentials than longevity... but that's just me <g>

Do you happen to know if the new printer will take the same cartridges as 
the R800.  I'd love NOT to have to stock twosets of cartridges!
