On my  Mac  - yes.  No problem switching from Epson to QTR and back 
using 1160, 1280 and 2200.

"will it affect the ability to print via the normal Epson driver?"  The
answer is "no" (at least with regard to a Mac - I can't speak for PC users)

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
