Problem with new MIS Ink Cartridge/Epson C86

Problem with new MIS Ink Cartridge/Epson C86

2005-02-02 by Philip Glaser

Hi,

I recently purchased an Epson C86 and ordered an MIS Eboni Black cartridge.
I think I screwed up the new ink cartridge in the charging phase by trying
to charge it without the color cartridges present (I figured I wasn't going
to print with them so why install them?). The printer didn't seem to react
well to this and so I turned it off and installed the three color cartridges
that come with the printer. Everything seemed to go fine from there, but
when I print nothing comes out of the black cartridge. I replaced the MIS
cartridge with the original Epson one and now the black prints. Any
suggestions about what to do for the MIS cartridge to get it working?

Thanks.

You need to let the cartridge sit in the printer for awhile to let
the air to settle.

Try it in a few hours.

That's why when re-filling the MIS carts, you need to use the adapter
and a syringe to extract a little ink before installing them in the
printer.

Then , you should get a good nozzle check on the first or second try.

Thanks I'll give this a try.

Is this particularly the case with the MIS cartridges? The EPSON cartridges
worked immediately. Just curious about that.

MIS cartridges. You only need to do it the first time you charge the
cartridge.

Aftermarket carts.

The Epsons are a totally different design.

If you bought a new, full Eboni cartridge from MIS, it should work the
same as the Epsons.

The information on charging, primimg, bottom adapters, etc..., only
relates to cartridges that you refill yourself.

It's hard to say what happened to this cartridge when you installed it
without the color carts. Don't try to run without all the carts
installed. Try getting MIS to replace it.
