Paul Roark UT2 curves

In using the MIS UT2 inks the curves suddenly seem to stop working when I changed inks(everything was beautiful before). The prints are dark and heavy and adjustments to the image before applying the curve seems to have no effect. This is still true after changing cartridges twice. I am using a 1280 printer and I noticed that the cartridges read 1270 on them though the decal on the side read the correct ink type for UT2. I was wondering if the 1270 cartridge could suddenly cause the problem.....The sliders seem to work much better and if I am forced to use this option, what is the best setting to approximate the photo rag carbon curve?
