And the perceived cleanliness and sharpness achieved form digital output is a red herring. I'm sorry to be so adamant, but people who claim these kinds of things seem so focused (as it were) with the physics involved that they never really look at the imagery. And it's really about imagery not physics. These are the same kinds of people who claim that *all* photographs must contain a drop dead black and a sparkling white, no matter what...Oh, sometimes they say it's ok to not have a black in a 'high key' photo.
