Calibrating a Monitor

Calibrating a Monitor

2005-03-17 by Andrew Unger

My monitor is a NEC Multisync FE950+. When I calibrate with my
Monaco 2.1 and Monaco Sensor Colorimeter, Win
XP home, the monitor does not permit any adjustment to the default
setting of 6500K. That is, you can't adjust brightness and
contrast. I have been using 7500K as my standard, but I wonder if
it would make sense to have 2 standards: 5000K for "natural" finish
paper and 7500K for the "bright whites." I use 2.2 as the gamma.
