Minolta Scan Elite 5400 II

Minolta Scan Elite 5400 II

2005-03-19 by Robert

I see that this scanner is now shipping in the U.S. Has anyone tried
it with B&W negatives yet? I have an older Canon FS4000, and I'm
considering upgrading if it can produce better scans.

My 5400 II produced amazingly good color negative results and I was
happy with the few initial B&W and chromes I more casually scanned and
printed. Unfortunately my 5400II stopped functioning ... it goes back
to Amazon (best possible source IMO) on Monday.

Amazon emailed:

"As it seems that the problem with this item is more widespread than
we originally thought, we are not able to send another replacement.
We will investigate and remedy the situation with the item; however,
I cannot guarantee when the error may be fixed.

We will gladly refund you in full for the return of this item. If
the item was part of a set, please return the entire set."

Aargh! Well at least you got a taste. Q: What B&W film did you
scan, and what scanner did you have before?

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
