Refilling EZ Carts

Refilling EZ Carts

2005-03-27 by toliwel@aol.com

Can the MIS EZ fill carts be refilled while still in the printer? Or should
they always be removed for refilling? I wonder if removing the plug will
upset the function of the vent or dampers and cause ink to run through the nozzles
into the printer. I use the SSC utility to reset the chips on my 1280.

You'll never get the plug out of the 1280 EZ fill carts unless you
remove them from the printer. But you seem to get perfect nozzle
checks right away if you prime them by pulling just the slightest
amount of ink out of the bottom.

Why even take the remotely possible chance of dripping ink inside the
printer?

Take the cart out!

More to the point. It would be rather difficult to reset the chip when it is
still in the printer....
