Digital BW, The Print

Im having trouble with the glass carriers for the 120tf. Silverfast is not recognizing it half 
the time and throws a warning saying that no carrier is inserted. The only way around this 
is to 'fool' it by loading the standard med format carrier then swapping it for the glass one 
- this works some of the time.

Any ideas?

Ben...I was using the Polaroid version of this scanner (now sold) 
and had the same problem.  Seems to me that Polariod or Silverfast 
(I can't remember which) offered a software/firmware upgrade on 
their website that fixed the problem.  Maybe the Microtek or 
SilverFast websites have upgrades that may help.

That said, I stopped using the glass holder, as it was a bear to 
keep clean (four surfaces!).  I found if I used the regular holder 
and didn't tighten the top down snugly the film laid perfectly 
flat.  This was with roll film.  Hope this helps...Best, Val

Thank you for your response. The problem was the version of Silverfast. I updated to the 
newest version and the problem dissapeared. I agree about the cleaning problems with the 
glass carrier - if my film is flat, I don't use it either.
